The BVCAA, Inc. Community Action Partner of the Year Award is an annual
award begun in 2007 to help commemorate the 35th Anniversary of Brazos
Valley Community Action Agency, Inc.
The award is presented in May at the BVCAA, Inc Annual Meeting which is held
in conjunction with National Community Action Month.
The award is given to businesses, organizations or individuals who have
exemplified outstanding support of helping to better the lives of our
neighbors in the Brazos Valley through funding, volunteering or program
support and development.
The 2008 Brazos Valley Community Action Agency, Inc. Community Action
Partner of the Year is College Station Medical Center. The Med has a
history of giving back to the community. In 2006 approximately 25% of its
operating expense was dedicated to charity and community contributions. In
October of 2007, BVCAA and The Med entered into an innovative collaboration,
one never before seen between the for-profit and nonprofit worlds. This
partnership resulted in the opening of the ABC Women and Children's Clinic
and daily, is providing opportunities for quality health care for women and
children of the Brazos Valley.

people and changing lives!
