Craig Blakely, Ph.D., Dean, School of Rural Public Health, Texas A&M University. Dr. Blakely serves as a Community representative to the Board and is serving as the Vice Chair for the Board of Directors. He serves on the Executive Committee and has been on the Board since 2008.

Amber Bass is a Certified Public Accountant and works for the Greater Texas Community Foundation. She is a Community Representative who joined the Board in 2011, and serves on the Board's Finance and Audit Committee.

Carmen (Deloach) Terrell is a homemaker and former Head Start Parent who served on the Head Start Policy Council. She currently represents the Consumer sector for Brazos County and has been on the board since 2008. She serves as an at large member of the Executive Committee.

Migel (Mike) Flores is a Community Representative who joined the Board in 2009. He served one term as Board Secretary and currently serves as the Board's representative to the Head Start Policy Council. He operates Beetles Pest Control.

Teddi Jackson is a retired Health Care Administrator. She was appointed to the Brazos Valley Community Action Agency, Inc. Board of Directors by Grimes County Judge Betty Shiflett. She originally served in the Public Sector of the Board of Directors and now serves in the Community Sector as Chairman of the Board. She has been a Board Member since 2007.

Rose Marie Lopez is a retired former BVCAA, Inc. employee who joined the Board in 2011 as a Consumer sector representative.

Gloria McCarty is a Leon County board member now serving as a Consumer Representative. She is employed by the Leon County Resource Center and began her board service in 2007 as a designated representative for Leon County Judge Byron Ryder. She is an at large member of the Board's Executive Committee.

Sara Mendez, M.S. is a Consumer representative to the Board. She is Secretary for the Board of Directors and serves on the Executive Committee. She is employed by the Brazos County Health Department where she works with Health Education as well as being the Department's Public Information Officer. She joined the Board in 2010.

Sharon Phelps is the designated representative of Madison County Judge Cecil N. Neely so represents the public sector on the Board. She serves as Treasurer for the Board and chairs the Finance and Audit Committee, and serves on the Board's Executive Committee. She has been on the board since 2006.

Danny Pierce is a Public Representative to the Board. He is the County Judge for Walker County and joined the board in 2011.

Byron Ryder is a Public Representative to the Board. He is the County Judge for Walker County and joined the board in 2010.

Betty Shiflett has reclaimed a seat on the Board in 2012 as a Public Representative. She is the County Judge for Grimes County and was the appointing elected official when Teddi Jackson first joined the Board for BVCAA.

Michael Sutherland is a Public Representative and began serving on the Board in 2010. He is the County Judge for Burleson County.

The Board of Directors of Brazos Valley Community Action Agency, Inc. regularly meets on the second Thursday of each month. Generally, meetings are scheduled from 2:30 - 4:30 PM and are held in the conference room located at our administrative offices, 1500 University Drive East, College Station, TX.
